What does it take to be SEEN and RECOGNIZED as an authority in your industry?
The short answer is that you have to be willing to STAND OUT.
Because so many people today are trying to become authorities and business leaders, but they are all doing the same stuff. All of them… over and over again…
So you have to find a way to break-through. And the only way you will ever make a name for yourself (and make a big impact) is to consciously create a strategy and a message that is unique and powerful to you.
If you don’t, then you will never become the authority in your industry.
But there are a few steps, 4 in fact, that can help you be seen and recognized as the authority. But more importantly… these 4 steps can help you FEEL like you are the authority (that’s one of the most important parts!)

In this episode of the Big Vision we’re going to help you to be seen as the authority in your industry.
Hi there, my name’s Max Simon and this show is all about how you can reach more people and thrive financially. In today’s episode, Susanne asks, “What are the three most important first steps to take to brand yourself as a leader or an authority in your industry?”
Great question Susanne and I have phenomenal and slightly confronting answers for you today. You see, there are so many people in business today that are trying to make a name, trying to make an impact, trying to stand out but are all pretty much doing the same stuff and the reality is if you don’t consciously create a strategy, a messaging and a way of being in the world that’s unique and powerful to you, you’re never going to become the authority.
So today, I’m going to give you the four steps that help you be seen and recognized as an authority but more importantly so that you feel it, that you feel like the authority because I’ll tell you that’s one of the most important parts.
Step one and I might sound a little bit like a broken record is to pick your tribe. You see, once you decide the people that you’re speaking to, those that you are destined to lead then you can target your message, you can target your voice, you can target your programs, you can target your marketing to speak directly to this group of people and by doing that, this tribe will feel like you’re the authority because they will genuinely sense that you know them that you get them and more importantly that you have knowledge and wisdom and services that can help them.
The second step is to determine the topics or the unique place that this tribe is really hungry for that you have the greatest amount of knowledge and expertise around. You see, when I was growing my business I realized there was quite a few people who simply didn’t understand how to communicate what it is that they were doing in the most persuasive way so that became the topic that I got known for is how do you take what you do, what you love and communicate it in a way that people truly get the value of it. So which topic are you really feeling one step ahead of the tribe in that you can get on your soapbox and really shout that you have knowledge and wisdom to help them around.
The third step is to start working with people as quickly and deeply as possible in your tribe around this sweet spot of a topic. You see my experience has been that the more that you get to interact with people, the more that you get to coach and support people, the more that you get to help people actually get results, your own confidence and certainty rises. You see so many people want to “be the authority” without having enough experience to really claim and own that they are the authority, and people can feel that. So make your focus to work with as many people as quickly as possible and really get results with those tribes because you’ll find that that will be one of the absolute most important and greatest ways for you to claim to be truly the authority in your industry.
And lastly, the fourth point which I believe is one of the most important if you really want to stand out is to start speaking up against what people are doing wrong, what other people in your industry are doing wrong. Create some confrontations about what’s going on that’s not working because people that have a strong point of view, people that are willing to speak up and be bold even when that means they might not be “liked” are the ones that are established as the authorities. So you have to be willing to put aside your fears, put aside your who is going to listen to me and start really shouting that people are doing things wrong, that there’s a problem, that there’s something that need to be changed or fixed because that strong point of view will make you be seen and recognized as an authority in other people’s eyes.
