I was tempted to publish this post on Valentines day, but it hadn’t quite formed into a complete thought yet and it was too important just push out for the sake of a holiday…
…So instead, I took a little extra time to make sure this message was communicated to you with the utmost power, clarity, and conviction.
Because what I’m about to say is, without a question, one of the most important aspects of your success in business (and life).
So soak up every word, because we’re going to go deep (just the way you and I like it!).
You See, People Always Ask Me…
“How did you turn things around so quickly?”
Because in case you’re new to our tribe (since hundreds of people joined in the last few weeks), I went from loosing $80,000 in 2008 (and feeling totally stressed out) to making over $500,000 in 2009 (and feeling totally on-purpose and in flow)…
…While working less time and going on more vacations.
And even though I haven’t broke the 7-figure mark yet (which will happen in the next 4 months), it certainly was a very quick turn-around.
So when I think about what it was that caused the shift, the answer is fairly simple…
I started caring more than other people’s fears
That’s right, caring more than other people’s fear.
You see, I realized that there is no shortage of good information out there. Heck, there are enough New York Times Best Selling books to teach you how to be a millionaire, get in shape, find the love of your life, travel around the world, have kids, build a house, and whatever else you want…to keep you busy for 1,000 lifetimes.
So the problem clearly isn’t a lack of exposure to knowledge.
The problem is that people are afraid…
… To do things they haven’t done before.
… To raise their prices.
… To invest in themselves.
… To do whatever it takes to get what they want.
And guess what? Giving you more information about why you should do these things isn’t going to help.
Because it’s not the information that matters….it’s the energy, the support, and the presence of the person delivering the knowledge that makes the difference.
Watch, I’ll prove it to you…
Listen to this knowledge very closely and take action on everything I share. I’m telling you that these ingredients were fundamental to my growth.
Here goes:
… Whatever you’ve been waiting to do because you’re scared, get over it and do it right now. It’s not so bad…and it will turn out better than you think.
… Raise your prices immediately. People will pay it. You’ll attract better clients and they will be more committed to their own growth.
… Get a coach right now. Go to that next seminar. These things are necessary for your growth and evolution. Invest in yourself. Nobody will invest in you if you don’t do it first.
GO OUT AND DO IT….RIGHT NOW!!!
There I said it. So now are you going to go out and do it?
If you’re like most, probably not. Because you’ll read these words, agree that they are valid and useful, and then stay right where you are.
Blah.
And then you’ll wonder why business isn’t picking up or why you’re not getting better results.
But go with me on a journey for a moment
And see how this feels in your body…
Imagine if you and I were on the phone together, and you told me about all of your problems – like not having enough clients, not making enough money, and not stepping into your power.
And as a result of those problems, you weren’t showing up in your relationships, experiencing the freedom you desire, or enjoying life the way you wanted.
So I listened to your story, realized that I could be a catalyst for your transformation, and went on to explain how I could help you (which included my program).
And as I started to talk about money…
You started to recoil…
Because you got afraid…about not having the funds….about whether you were ready…about whatever else came to mind.
And imagine if I said: “OK, that’s fine. I get that you are crying out for help and that I am just the person to take you from where you are to where you want to go….but I’ll let you sink back into your hole and shrivel away. No problem.”
Because this is EXACTLY what most people do in this situation….they stop the moment the other person puts up a little bit of resistance.
But can you see that it actually has nothing to do with you, your service, your offering, or anything else?
It has to do with their fear, and that’s why it’s so important for you to care more than other people’s fears.
… Which looks like STEPPING UP to inspire people over their “fear hump”.
… Which looks like helping them commit to their own transformation.
… Which looks like moving people from inaction to action.
And if you become wealthy and fulfilled in the process, than everyone wins.
Do you see how this works?
To summarize (because I know you want it simple and to the point), here’s your take-away.
If you have something to offer that world that will help someone else heal, transform, or succeed, it is your responsibility to do everything in your power to get them to move forward with you.
Yes, they will put up resistance. Yes, they will have excuses. Yes, it will be uncomfortable.
And YES, this is when you must STEP UP and care more than other people’s fears…
Because this is the secret to your success….and this is how the world will transform.
