Can You See How Your Desire To Be Liked Might be Getting In The Way?

In this episode we’re talking about how your desire to be liked is killing your business. Hi, there. I’m Max Simon and welcome to the Big Vision Show. This is all about how you can reach more people and thrive financially.

Here is the thing, I know that you got into business because you wanted to help other people. You wanted to be in service. You wanted to be seen as a respectable person doing good things in the world. But I assure you that way too much of the time are you more concerned about being liked than you are about being effective.

You see sometimes when people are doing things wrong you’re not actively confronting them. Or when something is not working properly you’re not actively changing it. Or when you’re not getting a good deal or being paid what you’re worth, you’re not actively negotiating.

Here are three things you can do today to shift this energy in you fast. First, just start to be aware of how this might be playing out for you in your business, how you might be desiring to be liked over desiring to be effective. Just become aware of it because once you’re aware of it you can decide, is it serving you or is it hurting you?

Step two is when you see something that’s not right immediately speak up against it. Immediately vocalize that it’s not right and that you want things to change. You’ll be surprised when you just start to communicate that maybe this isn’t feeling so good and this is what I’d like to see it look like, how quickly stuff can actually change. I mean just the other day one of my clients said she was getting underpaid. She became aware of it. She vocalized it to her person and they gave her a 20 X increase in salary. Pretty great change.

And the third point is to make things right if you are not honoring other people. You see, everything is a reflection. So if you’re not properly valuing others, if you’re not respecting others, if you’re not being fair to others, that’s going to shine back on you in some way, shape or form in other aspects of your business. So if you are needing to make things right for others inside of your business go and do that immediately as well. It might be difficult to do but it’s always the right decision.
