In today’s episode of The Big Vision Show, we are talking about ending your self-sabotage.

Hi, there, my name’s Max Simon. Welcome to The Big Vision Show. This is about helping you kick butt in your business. I notice this interesting pattern that happens a lot with entrepreneurs, where they have this desire to do something. It’s like you want to get your message out. You want to make more money.

You want to be this globally recognized figure; so that desire’s there. Then you start to take actions that are aligned with that desire, and all of the sudden you start getting confronted by stuff, like it gets tough.

Business is challenging, if you didn’t get the memo; and at that point, all of the sudden most people start to distract themselves with all the other things that are easier, more convenient, or more in their comfort zone. Or more whatever, besides the thing that they most need to be doing to really grow themselves and grow their business.

Ultimately, this is what self-sabotage is; it’s doing everything but what you need to be doing in order to go to that next level. Since this happens so much, I figured I would make a little video here to help you end this nasty little cycle of quitting, because that’s really what’s going on.

There’s, like, starting and stopping, and starting and stopping, so that you can become a finisher. With that in mind, here are the five steps for you to become a finisher.

Number one – you’re not going to like it – it’s to suffer enough. You see, I always say that people don’t really change until they’ve suffered enough. It’s like when you’ve hit that place where you’re so frustrated and so stuck, and you’re so confronted by your own limitations that you suffer enough and then you – phew – make that decision to start doing things differently.

“I’ve suffered enough; I’m raising my white flag.” So have you suffered enough? Have you? I hope so.

The second step is to focus on one important project. Now I know you’ve got, like, 50 different things zooming around in your mind. Pick the most important one. Decide that you’re going to focus the majority of your time, your energy, your creativity on one project and then actually commit to getting that thing done; be a finisher in one project.

Point number three goes along that little thread, and it’s to let go of everything but that one important project. You see so many times where, like, “Yeah, I can do this, but I can also do this and this and this,” and all of the sudden you’re not just focused on one thing because all these other things are eating up your attention and time.

So the third point is to let go of all the other lingering, open-ended projects and ideas and everything else. You can go to them another time. For now, focus on one.

The fourth step is to make your commitment public. You see, there’s something incredibly powerful that happens when you decide to vocalize, “This is what I am working on and this is what I’m committed to finishing,” because now your friends and your co-workers and everybody else is now almost responsible to hold you accountable.

“I’m declaring it to you, and making it public.” Even though it might sound like the scariest thing in the world to actually declare the one thing you’re going to do, go ahead and post it publicly and let the community around you support you.

And the fifth point, which I couldn’t stress enough, is to surround yourself with other Big Vision entrepreneurs; because what I find is that if you are not in the energy of the other people playing a big game, finishing projects, getting stuff out into the world, most of the people are not there.

That energy starts to contract and pull you down and make you lazy. But if you’re with people like our tribe, all of the sudden you’re in action, you’re driving things forward, you’re taking leaps, and you’re getting stuff done. Surround yourself with Big Vision entrepreneurs. I can not tell you how important this is.

So those are five steps for you to be a finisher. I hope you enjoyed them and what I’d love to hear from you below is, what are you going to finish? Declare to this tribe right below. Let us hold you accountable to making your Big Vision a living, breathing reality now.
