BVB: Darius, what’s working in your business right now?
Darius: Well, one of the things I’m really excited about, and have helped my clients do as well, is create what’s called a mini-training academy model. Essentially, a teleseminar.
Many of you have probably seen them, but very few know how to do them correctly.
What we do is we invite some of the top people in our niche to come on a five day, ten day, twenty day training event that’s online and totally free for people to opt-in and get information.
And we interview the experts, and we get to share that knowledge with the world. It empowers everyone. The interviewee, the speakers, and the audience.
And if it’s not about how great the listeners can be, it’s not going to work.
BVB: How does this model benefit the person behind the scenes making it happen?
Darius: Well, let me tell you my story. Five to ten years ago I was very well known in the business, real estate, and legal asset arenas. And, I decided I wanted to move in a different direction in my business. I had a burning desire to help people to find their passions, and my biggest challenge was that it took me eight years to become well known in a niche.
And once I understood this model of using these teleseminars as a way to get my name out there, I took a start up company that was basically at zero, and took it to $1.9 million in about fifteen months.
I had virtually no contacts, but within three months I had people like T. Harv Eker, John Assaraf, Marie Diamond, and so many other top experts promoting what I do.
In the span of 3 months I had 25,000 people on a new email list. Before I started doing this model it took me eight years to get 3,000 people on my email list.
BVB: Do you have proof to share, that this is actually a strategy that’s working for others?
Darius: I’m actually really glad you asked, because we have students who have used it and experienced phenomenal success. One student is in the health industry, and instantaneously connected with Dr. David Wolfe, who is extremely well known. They built up a list of thousands of people, earned thousands of dollars, literally in a couple of weeks, and now they’re getting joint venture offers left, right, and center coming in because they are using this model.
BVB: Why do you think this is working so well right now?
Darius: Because there is so much information, people are looking for someone to be more than just an expert. They want an advocate and messenger for their potential.
And when you come at it from that approach, you have a different viewpoint. It’s not me trying to show how great I am, but how great the speakers are. I’m trying to show the people in the academy how great they could be and I’m asking the people who have information to serve them how the guests can use that information to create a better life.
And another reason it works is because the first rule in really building a business is helping others first. So if you can find a way to give value first, then you’ll have a lot of people wanting to work with you.
BVB: What are some steps people can take to launch successful teleseminars?
Darius: One of the first really important things is to ask yourself: “What is the big thing that I want to transform in the world?” Big names, big people, big opportunities come because of a big mission. Find a cause, and a purpose that inspires you. It needs to be bigger than anything anyone else can dream up. And it needs to truly benefit everyone involved.
Once you have that vision, that mission, that inspiration… then take some time in the planning stages. Write down all the ways that your business, your message, your expertise can support this. Write down at least twenty-five ways that this mission fits with your business.
Then, research partners, speakers, and teachers that share your vision and that operate in your market. Share your mission with them and invite them to your teleseminar. Big partners will connect more to your big mission than anything else. And there’s also marketing specifics that go along with this, technical aspects. It can be a learning curve, but that’s one of the things my team does, is work with people on that.
And always, always think… what is the gift that you want to pull out of others?
