Max Simon: The story of a big soul in a
little body.
From as early as I can remember, I’ve loved business.

At 9, I started buying baseball cards and then selling them at a premium.
When I was 12, it evolved into fishing, going door to door to sell my fresh catch to my neighbors.
Then I was a cell phone salesman, a mortgage broker, a meditation & yoga teacher, and many, many more.
At the time, business seemed rather simple to me. You find out what people want and then you give it to them.
Easy enough… right?
Working at The Chopra Center was my first
big break.
At 21, the stars aligned and I got a chance to work with my father and Dr. Deepak Chopra as the Director of Consumer Products for this world-renowned company (The Chopra Center). It was amazing to be in charge of this huge global brand at such a young age…

Simultaneously, I became the youngest certified teacher in the history of the organization and traveled the world speaking to thousands about wellness, human potential, and life purpose at their prestigious events. By the time I turned 25, I had already appeared on over 200 stages and spoken to over 5,000 people. What a gift…

I needed to be in control of my own destiny…
Unfortunately, my first business failed painfully hard and fast.
When I went off on my own, I thought it was going to be a piece of cake to build my own empire. But instead, I…
- Lost my entire $80,000 inheritance in just 18 months (sorry grandma)
- Worked approximately 70-90 hours per week (that’s fun)
- Changed strategy & direction about every two weeks (not a good idea)
- Tried to do everything on my own (also not a good idea)
- Got super depressed, overwhelmed, & felt like quitting
It was a very painful time in my life. I felt off-purpose, confused, and downright sad that I couldn’t figure this whole business thing out… even though I (though) I was so intelligent…
Most people are not willing to be honest about why they fail.
But honesty and integrity are my highest values… and now that I’ve overcome many of these pesky little challenges, I’d like to tell you what stopped me from growing my vision and getting my message out in a bigger way.
… In hopes that it might help you see what’s holding YOU back with a little more clarity as well.
So here’s the raw and real truth about why I struggled so hard and suffered so much in the beginning…
Reason #1: I was filled with too much arrogance and pride to get help.
Though I wouldn’t admit it, the truth is that I resisted support, guidance, and mentorship like the plague.
I thought I had all the answers. I thought I knew exactly what I was doing. I thought that I could figure it all out of my own.
And as a result of my own stubbornness, I stayed stuck in my downward spiral way longer than was necessary.
My painful lesson: seek help when you are struggling and can’t figure it out on your own. You’ll save a tremendous amount of time, money, and energy if you’re just willing to invest in your own support. I know it’s challenging to make that decision when resources are tight… but focus on the transformation that will occur when you have clarity and direction. Big Vision Entrepreneurs make decisions from where they want to be.
Reason #2: I had a very “un-clean” energy around money, marketing & sales
I never realized that not charging enough, not making my marketing strong and bold enough, and not properly valuing my time was all a reflection of my “negative beliefs” around money.
I thought I wanted to be successful… but I created a real separation between making money and helping people. It’s almost as if these two experiences couldn’t live together in harmony. In fact, they almost competed against each other.
This kept me in a mode where I was constantly giving way more than I was receiving, working on projects that felt “safe”, and drastically under-valuing what I was doing… and that was preventing my business and vision from ever getting off the ground.
My painful lesson: you must embrace that making money, doing awesome marketing, and becoming great at sales allows you to serve and help more people. Period.
Reason #3: Among other things, I have the worst entrepreneur ADD of all times.
Well, this is still a problem. Focus (and especially organization) is not my strong suite.
That’s why I now have a great team to keep me on track and do everything that I’m not so good at (which is a pretty long list
.
But here’s the thing. One of the things that was stopping me was all my excuses. I would always come up with a million different reasons why I couldn’t make it today.
I’m not experienced enough. I don’t have enough knowledge. I’m not credible enough. It’s too difficult for me to get organized. Blah, blah, blah.
The truth is that I let this endless mind-chatter go on for way too long. And I’m absolutely certain it was the main reason why I remained stuck. I believed my own B.S.
My painful lesson: any excuse you’re telling yourself as to why you can’t is flat out untrue. You are 100% ready right now to achieve amazing success. You just need to be willing to give up the excuses and start taking big bold actions today.
“Your Greatest Challenge Is Your Greatest Opportunity”
I’m not sure who said this but I remember hearing this quote and having one of those moments where everything shifted.
“Your greatest challenge is your greatest opportunity.”
This is when I realized that my purpose in the world was to first overcome these challenges in myself…
Meaning, to become a great, successful, integrity driven entrepreneur who is doing big things in the world, making a lot of money, and helping a lot of people.
… and then focus all of my energy, attention, and creativity on helping others do the same.
With this clarity, I started down my own personal path of transformation.
I Faced My Demons Head On…
I made the decision to start getting support and help from mentors and teachers.
I invested in hundreds of thousands of dollars in coaches, live events, and training programs.
I cleared my negative beliefs around money, sales, and marketing.
I no longer worked myself into the ground and stayed ruthlessly focused on my own self-care and balance.
I stopped focusing on “what I couldn’t do” and started putting all of my energy into playing exclusively in my genius zone (what I’m really best at).
And sure enough… everything shifted in a radical and dramatic way.
Today, My Purpose Is Simple.
My company, Big Vision Business, is an incredible organization that serves tens of thousands of big-vision entrepreneurs from around all over the world who are on a mission to make a huge difference through their business.
Everything we do, from our live events to our digital trainings to our coaching programs are designed to do one simple yet profound thing: turn your big vision into a living breathing reality right now.

We’ve Done Pretty Darn Good So Far…
Sometimes, I’m astonished but what we’ve been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time.
In just the last 4 years, we’ve been promoted & endorsed by hundreds of the biggest names in our industry.
Our live events have become legendary for delivering life-altering transformational experiences that perfectly merge service & business.

Heck, Martha Stewart even awarded me with the prestigious honor of being “The Next Big Idea” in Body & Soul Magazine.
And it’s pretty cool that we’ve just about doubled our revenue every single year.
People Always Ask Me How To Achieve These Same Type Of Results…
My response is pretty simple.
- Be humble enough to invest in help when you need it. And the truth is… we all need it.
- Do everything in your power to get rid of any demons you might be carrying around business, money, marketing, and sales… because your business will never succeed if you are fighting against yourself.
- Discover your genius zone (what you love and are truly great at) and stick to it with incredible determination… and then allow others to do everything else. You can be good at a lot of stuff, or you can be legendary at a few.
So that’s my story…
I hope you enjoyed this little tale and feel a little closer to me now.
