What are some great things you do to manage your time?
Transcript of this episode:
Hi there, I’m Max Simon and in this episode of The Big Vision Show we’re going to talk about how to manage your time.
So look, one of the greatest challenges that entrepreneurs face today is how do they deal with this massively, ever expanding to do list that literally never seems to end. What I know from most people is that they get to the end of their day and they’re like, huh, I just wasted my entire day getting nothing done. Fortunately for you, I have one of the greatest systems in the world for how to manage your time, make sure that you’re getting things done and making sure that you’re actually celebrating the progress and the movement that you’re making.
It’s called the Five Drive and it’s something that you can do and something that your employees and team members can do every single week.
Here’s how it goes. Step one, Monday morning, or Sunday night, you sit down and you list out the five most important projects that you want to drive for to completion by the end of the week. Make a gazillion dollars! If you have more than five things, be willing to decide what are the five most highest priority things that you have to get done this week.
Step two is chunk it down. What are the steps that you need to go through to get these five things done. Maybe there are two or four or five steps for each of them.
Step three is to estimate how much time you think these steps are going to take.
Step four is go into your calendar and schedule out the time right now. First thing on Monday morning so that you make sure that you have the time to get it all done.
And finally at the end of your week, take some time on Friday and look at how were you at staying on track. Did you check off your five projects? Did you get stuff done? What didn’t you finish so that you can adjust your system for the next week?
I can’t say it enough but this is the simplest, most effective system to make sure that you get the most important projects done every single week and you have the time carved out to actually make it happen.
The cool thing is that at the end of the week you can see were you really on top of it? Did you stay committed? Did you over commit? And that way you can adjust every single week until you have the system right.
So that my friends is the simplest most effective way to stay on point, to manage your time and to make sure that you are focusing on the highest possible priority things for your business.

[...] So when I first implemented this, I had high-end coaching clients all over my schedule, and there was really no time for me to schedule going to the gym or even [...]

I went through this in the Online Business School training, but it was a great refresher viewing it again here!!
A few things I do to keep myself on track:
1. Actually USE the 5-Drive (don’t just think about it)
2. Schedule my calendar in advance and stick to it
3. Turn off all distractions – phones, email pop-ups, social media, etc. Schedule in a 30-minute block twice a day to tend to these.
4. I wear large earphones and have relaxing music playing in the background. This reduces background noise and further distractions. I tend to listen to meditation music when I’m in my creative zone – there’s a lot of it on Youtube. Here’s a 4-hour track that I listen to the most: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRhoWQX2OF8
Love what you and your team do, Max! I definitely appreciate all of you…
Have an amazing day!
Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the net the simplest thing
to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked while people think
about worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well
as defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a
signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
